Jorge DANS is a Cuban-Swiss artist with over 35 years of experience in the art world, excelling as a designer, engraver, and visual arts teacher. He has taught at various schools and workshops in Switzerland and founded his own studio, ©DansART, in Geneva more than 25 years ago. There, he offered courses in drawing, engraving, and painting for both children and adults.
Currently residing in Aubonne, Switzerland, DANS previously spent several years in the United States, where he gained recognition for his creative work.
Though he considers himself an eternal student and largely self-taught, DANS, like many Cuban children, took his first artistic steps at the House of Culture in Santiago de las Vegas, a small town on the outskirts of Havana known for its vibrant artistic community. He later pursued formal studies at the Superior Institute of Design (ISDI) in Cuba, where he deepened his knowledge and cultivated his skills in visual arts.
DANS draws inspiration from a unique blend of old European colors, social life, music, and Caribbean culture. Yet, his Cuban roots remain a constant presence in his work, reflected in the themes and vibrant color palettes he employs.
Deeply committed to artistic creation, DANS is equally passionate about sharing his expertise as a visual arts teacher. He skillfully balances benevolence and creativity, making him both a dedicated artist and an inspiring educator.
