The art of Jorge Dans stands unique in the international circles of fine art. It spans continents, styles, and decades across the markets of France, Germany, Switzerland, Cuba, and the United States.
Though it has evolved, his distinct visual synthesis of various cultures and art movements converge through the continuous line of his vision. Dans’ diverse career of nearly 40 years has therefore resulted in a singular aesthetic that he has forged and made completely his own. At its center, Dans’ work is marked by a natural talent refined by a dedication to precision, color, and rigorous technique, as well as balance. His Hyperrealist details do not strip the power of his flowing infusions of color and emotion. Instead, they enhance them. Together they communicate the rich nature of life itself.
It is this seasoned balance, often executed through experimentation with innovative techniques and informed by art history, that has resulted in his original and instantly recognizable style. His work shows elements of
Post-Impressionist Pointillism, bold Expressionism, and even Pop Art with a lyrical, visual poetry — another indelible hallmark of Dans work. When seen together, they form a dialogue across his vast oeuvre.
Even to the untrained eye, it is clear to see why his work is now featured in the permanent collection of museums, libraries, and universities abroad, and continues to be carried to new fronts in the arts through the quality and strength of its merit.
